Need help with the Corral Cost Estimator?

This page is for product guidance, calculation questions, saved-project issues, export problems, and deployment support related to the RanchAssist™ Corral Cost Estimator.

Before contacting support, identify which part of the workflow you are using:

FOR CALCULATION QUESTIONS

Include:

- The planning mode you are using.

- The relevant pen or fence dimensions.

- The selected construction system.

- Post spacing, rail/strand count, or panel length assumptions.

- Gate widths and quantities.

- Concrete assumptions if relevant.

- The result you expected.

- The result the estimator produced.

You do not need to send private ranch information that is unrelated to the problem.

FOR .RA PROJECT FILE PROBLEMS

If a project will not open, note the exact message shown by the estimator. Common categories include:

- Not a RanchAssist project.

- Different RanchAssist tool.

- Newer project format.

- Project file could not be read.

- Project is incomplete.

Do not edit a .ra file unless you understand the project schema. Keep an original saved copy before attempting any manual changes.

FOR EXPORT PROBLEMS

For CSV, PNG, Print/PDF, Copy Summary, or Email Estimate issues, include:

- Device and browser.

- Export type.

- Whether the problem occurs before or after the file/download action begins.

- Any visible error message.

- Whether the same project can still be edited normally.

For email sharing, remember that the Google Apps Script deployment uses server-side MailApp. The static standalone HTML version may instead open a local mail draft.

FOR DEPLOYMENT / ADMINISTRATOR HELP

If you are deploying the tool yourself, check README_SETUP.txt included with the source package. The current estimator does not require Mapbox or another third-party mapping API because Plan Mode uses a built-in grid.

The optional Apps Script SUPPORT_EMAIL property can be used by a deployment administrator for a deployment-specific support contact. End users should never be asked to configure developer credentials.

DATA AND PRIVACY

The estimator is session-first. Active work may be stored in sessionStorage for resilience during the current browser session. Long-term project continuation is handled through local .ra project files that the user chooses to save.

When asking for support, share only the project information necessary to diagnose the issue. A .ra project file may contain dimensions, costs, project notes, and other user-entered project information.

SAFETY / PROFESSIONAL USE

Support can explain how the estimator behaves, but RanchAssist does not provide structural engineering, construction certification, cattle-flow certification, safety approval, legal advice, or guaranteed project pricing through this tool.

For site-specific construction, engineering, safety, code, material, or pricing decisions, consult qualified local professionals.
