Gross rectangular perimeter is based on:

If adjoining pens cause a shared boundary to be counted twice, the user can enter a shared fence deduction.
### Plan Mode
Plan Mode uses a built-in scaled SVG planning grid. It does not require Mapbox or a geographic basemap in the current build.
The default grid is 10 ft per grid square and is editable.
Drawing tools include:
- Select.
- Draw pen.
- Fence line.
- Place gate.
- Equipment marker.
- Existing structure.
- Undo.
- Redo.
Pen rectangles derive perimeter footage from the drawing scale.
Fence lines derive length from the drawing scale.
Gate markers reduce installed fence footage for their assigned construction system and add gate-terminal requirements.
Existing structures and equipment markers are visual references and do not automatically add working-equipment purchase costs.
