RANCHASSIST™ CORRAL COST ESTIMATOR — PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: August 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains the data-handling approach of the RanchAssist™ Corral Cost Estimator (the “Estimator”). It is written for the standalone RanchAssist product architecture in which project data is session-first and long-term project saving is controlled by the user through local RanchAssist .ra files.
1. OVERVIEW
The Estimator is designed to let you plan livestock corral and working-facility costs without creating a RanchAssist account and without RanchAssist permanently storing the editable project by default.
The Estimator may process information you enter in order to perform calculations, maintain the active browser session, create user-requested exports, reopen a user-selected .ra project file, or send a user-requested email estimate.
2. INFORMATION YOU MAY ENTER
Depending on how you use the Estimator, project information may include:
- Project name.
- Pen, alley, lane, or facility dimensions.
- Plan Mode geometry and grid settings.
- Gate types, widths, quantities, and costs.
- Construction-system selections and assumptions.
- Post spacing and post costs.
- Concrete dimensions, yield assumptions, and costs.
- Working-equipment descriptions, quantities, and costs.
- Labor hours and rates.
- Equipment rental, freight, delivery, tax, contingency, and waste assumptions.
- Project notes.
- Recipient email address when you explicitly use the Email Estimate feature.
You control what project information you enter.
3. NO REQUIRED USER ACCOUNT
The standalone Estimator does not require a RanchAssist user account to perform its core estimating functions.
4. ACTIVE-SESSION STORAGE
The Estimator may use browser sessionStorage to protect active work from accidental refresh or same-tab navigation during the current browser session.
sessionStorage is not presented as permanent project storage. The Estimator does not use localStorage as the standard mechanism for long-term project persistence.
Session data can be removed by using Clear Session / Start Over, closing the relevant browser session depending on browser behavior, or clearing browser data.
5. RANCHASSIST .RA PROJECT FILES
For long-term continuation, the Estimator allows you to save a RanchAssist .ra project file to your own device.
A .ra file can contain the editable state needed to reconstruct the project, including project metadata, dimensions, plan geometry, gates, material assumptions, concrete settings, working-equipment rows, labor/cost assumptions, notes, and related settings.
A .ra file is a user-controlled local file. Saving it does not mean RanchAssist has created cloud storage for the project.
You are responsible for deciding where to store, copy, back up, transmit, or delete your saved .ra files.
6. INFORMATION NOT INTENTIONALLY INCLUDED IN .RA FILES
The Estimator is designed not to serialize application credentials or executable code into .ra project files. The file format must not intentionally contain:
- API keys.
- Access tokens.
- OAuth tokens.
- Email credentials.
- Apps Script Script Properties.
- Session cookies.
- Private server-side secrets.
- Executable JavaScript or event handlers.
7. EXPORTS
When you choose an export or sharing action, the Estimator may create output containing information from your project.
Current output types can include:
- CSV bill of materials and cost information.
- PNG facility plan or schematic.
- Print / PDF output.
- Copy Summary text.
- Email Estimate content.
Exports are created at your request. After an export is saved, copied, printed, emailed, or otherwise shared, it is subject to the storage, privacy, and security practices of the device, browser, email service, recipient, or other destination you selected.
8. EMAIL ESTIMATE
In a Google Apps Script deployment, the Email Estimate feature may use Google Apps Script MailApp on the server to send the requested estimate.
When you use that feature, the recipient email address and estimate content must be processed to complete the requested delivery. Do not use Email Estimate to transmit information you do not want included in an email.
A standalone static HTML version may instead open a local mail draft, in which case your local email application or provider handles the message.
9. THIRD-PARTY PLATFORM PROCESSING
The Estimator may be hosted using Google Apps Script or another deployment platform. Hosting, browser, network, email, or device providers may process standard technical information as part of delivering their services under their own terms and privacy practices.
The current Estimator build does not require Mapbox or another third-party mapping API because Plan Mode uses a built-in planning grid.
10. LOGS AND TECHNICAL DIAGNOSTICS
A deployment platform may generate ordinary operational logs or request metadata as part of running the application. RanchAssist product standards prohibit intentionally logging private credentials.
Normal user-facing errors should not expose raw secrets or stack traces.
11. CLEAR SESSION
Clear Session removes the active RanchAssist project state associated with the current browser session and resets the tool.
Clear Session does not delete .ra files, CSV files, PNG files, PDFs, or other exports you previously saved to your device.
12. DATA SECURITY
The Estimator is designed to minimize persistent application-side project storage. However, no browser, device, network, hosting environment, email system, or local file storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Protect saved .ra files and exports according to the sensitivity of the information you place in them.
13. CHILDREN
The Estimator is a ranch operations and project-planning utility and is not directed specifically to children. Do not submit personal information about children unless it is necessary and lawful for your use of the tool.
14. YOUR CHOICES
You can:
- Choose what project information to enter.
- Clear the current session.
- Save or decline to save a .ra project file.
- Delete saved .ra files from your device.
- Choose whether to export, print, copy, or email results.
- Choose what recipient receives an email estimate.
15. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
This Privacy Policy may be updated as the Estimator, deployment architecture, or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date should be revised when material changes are published.

17. PRODUCT-SPECIFIC NOTE
This policy describes the intended data-handling model of the RanchAssist™ Corral Cost Estimator. A third-party or independently modified deployment may add services or processing that are not part of the source build. The administrator of that deployment is responsible for accurately disclosing any additional data practices.
